I LOVE THIS BAR
We usually camp a few weekends during the summer from late May-August. The lake is great for fishing...I also Love the trails for 4 wheeling right outside the campground. Love how close the campground is to all the amenities in Tomah. However, this year was my 1st adventure to the campground in November...Thanksgiving weekend. My husband decided to try hunting there again after 2 years. He didn't bag a deer but we did venture up to "the bar" to watch the Packer game Thanksgiving day. I NEVER HAD SO MUCH FUN IN MY LIFE!! There was so much going on with raffles and drink tickets, it just made watching the game that much more fun. And I can't leave out the energetic lady who sat at the corner of the bar near the TV...she was like a Packer Cheerleader. "The Bar" had a homey atmosphere...the people were friendly and allowed even us "flatlanders from Illinois" in on all the activities! There was NO drunk bartender...and no one causing problems. The only rucous behaviour was when the Packers would score a touchdown and they would tap "PACKER ROCKS" on the bar...all in good fun! They even offered a Thanksgiving dinner served buffet style for only $7.99...which was delicious! My husband and I had such a good time that weekend that we ventured back up to Eagles Nest over Christmas. Yes, Christmas Day the Green Bay Packers played the Chicago Bears at 7PM...and again we watched the game...at "the bar"...again...no drunk bartender and the only time it became loud was when the Packers got a 1st down or touchdown. I must add that they offered food during the game...buffet style...FREE! The food, the atmosphere, the friendly atmosphere makes me wish this place was closer than the 3 hour drive it takes me to get there!
